§ 70. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies for what reason the United States air mission to Nigeria has been undertaken; and to what extent this mission has secured the co-operation of the Nigerian Government.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe hon. Member is no doubt referring to a projected visit to Nigeria by members of a United States air rescue squadron to survey the route from Tripoli to Lagos from the point of view of desert rescue operations. This was originally arranged with the full co-operation of the Nigerian Government to take place in February, but I am told that the United States authorities have had to postpone the project and that no definite date has yet been fixed for it to be carried out.
