§ Mr. MarplesAn application was made to my right hon. Friend's predecessor to confirm a compulsory purchase Order relating to Smedley's Hydro. After considering the report of the Inspector who held a public inquiry, the104W right hon. Gentleman decided not to confirm the Order. My right hon. Friend has considered the matter again and is in full agreement with the decision of the right hon. Gentleman the Member for Bishop Auckland (Mr. Dalton), and the county council were so informed on 22nd February this year.
