HC Deb 28 November 1951 vol 494 c154W
66. Mr. M. Lindsay

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General how many applications there are for new telephones in the city of Birmingham and the Solihull Urban District, respectively; and what is the average waiting time.

Mr. Gammans

13,450 in Birmingham and 1,369 in Solihull. Service is provided in a few weeks in priority cases and in a few months in other cases where plant is available; no estimate can be made of the average time where new plant is required.
