HC Deb 27 November 1951 vol 494 c144W
Mr. Benson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what age group or groups the two experimental detention centres proposed to be set up will take.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

Premises for one detention centre have been acquired, and negotiations are proceeding for a second. If this is acquired, my intention is that one should take boys aged 14 to 16, the other boys aged 17 to 21.
