HC Deb 27 November 1951 vol 494 c141W
120. Miss Burton

asked the Secretary of State for War what progress has been made in the provision of further amenities for His Majesty's Forces in Korea.

Mr. J. R. H. Hutchison

Progress in this important field has continued. In particular the planned improvement in free cinema and live entertainment is taking effect. N.A.A.F.I. arrangements, including the provision of mobile and static canteens, have improved. A scheme for the purchase of gifts through N.A.A.F.I. mobile shops, which was held up by transport difficulties, has now started. More books and gifts of warm clothing have been sent out. Deficiencies of broadcast receivers have been made good and the British Broadcasting Corporation has provided additional programmes designed for the forces in the Far East.
