HC Deb 26 November 1951 vol 494 cc100-1W
38. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what experiments have been undertaken in different types of heating at Lockleaze Housing Estate, Bristol; and what recommendations he is making as to the use of any of them.

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

Three different systems of heating have been installed in six houses in Bristol which were specially built on what is called "the open plan design."

One system uses low pressure hot water; the second warm air with ducts; and the third warm air without ducts. I have not reached any conclusions because I have not yet received information about the costs of these experimental systems and what the people think about them.
