HC Deb 23 November 1951 vol 494 c98W
Sir W. Darling

asked the Minister of Civil Aviation how much factory space and how many houses are being demolished to make London Airport adequate for traffic; and if, to secure better and less wasteful results, he will consider developing other airports.

Mr. Maclay

At present, twelve cottages are being demolished in connection with the development of London Airport. No factories are being demolished.

I am satisfied that this work is essential to meet the needs of the rapidly increasing air traffic.
