HC Deb 22 November 1951 vol 494 c85W
111. Miss Ward

asked the Minister of Health why, in view of the continued need for nurses, the opening of the new nurses training school at Tynemouth has been postponed although the building has been acquired and a considerable amount of equipment provided.

Mr. Crookshank

The opening of the school was deferred because the regional hospital board did not expect to be able to meet the cost of running it from their reduced maintenance estimates. They are, however, now hoping to be able to open it shortly.
