HC Deb 22 November 1951 vol 494 c86W
Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Health how many people are now employed in the administration of hospitals in the United Kingdom; and how many were employed in the same capacity prior to the introduction of the National Health Service.

Mr. Crookshank

I can speak only for England and Wales. There, the regional hospital boards, boards of governors and hospital management committees employed 29,078 administrative and clerical staff on 31st December, 1950, the latest date for which I have figures. I regret that the information asked for in the second part of the Question is not available.
