asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give an assurance that work on the new hospital at Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, will not be retarded by the proposed ban on new building.

Work on this hospital commenced some time ago, and is not therefore affected by the arrangements for The postponement of starting dates recently announced by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Progress will, of course, depend upon the availability of capital investment and materials.
