HC Deb 15 November 1951 vol 493 cc65-6W
102. Rev. LI. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many members of the Welsh Advisory Council represent Monmouthshire.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

Individual local authorities are not represented as such on the Council. It so happens that there is at present no representative of Monmouthshire among the local authority representatives on the Council, but two other members of the Council have close associations with Monmouthshire.

106. Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what policy he proposes to adopt in connection with the Welsh Advisory Council.

108. Mrs. White

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department in what respects he contemplates changes in the status, constitution or programme of work of the Council for Wales.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

I regret that I am not yet in a position to make any statement on this subject, but it must not be assumed that any fundamental changes are contemplated.
