HC Deb 15 November 1951 vol 493 c69W
116. Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

asked the Minister of National Insurance how far the recent alterations to retirement pension increments have been successful in inducing men over 65 and women over 60 to remain at work; and if he will publish the relevant statistics.

Mr. Turton

It is too early to have any reliable information on this point. It will in any case always be difficult to isolate the effects of a particular provision which is only one factor among several influencing a person who is considering whether to stay on at work or to claim retirement pension.
