§ 111. Mr. Jannerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that there are at present no approved schools for epileptic children and that disposal in such cases by the juvenile courts is therefore difficult; and whether he will take steps to make accommodation available for delinquent epileptic children.
§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeApproved schools deal with a number of children and young persons suffering from minor epilepsy, but the schools are not designed to give the specialist and long-term medical treatment required by the few persons suffering from major epilepsy who are sent to approved schools. I am in consultation with my right hon. Friends the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education about the question of the appropriate provision to be made for these cases.
