§ 72. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the official results of the Nigerian elections including the support given to the respective parties.
§ Mr. Lyttelton:The elections are not complete and it would be premature to make a statement. Seventy-two seats out of 80 in the Western House of Assembly have been filled. The final election of members to the Northern and Eastern Houses of Assembly has yet to take place. I will provide the House with information on the results when the elections are finished.
