HC Deb 13 November 1951 vol 493 c19W
75. Mr. Janner

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the present position with regard to the Committee of Copyright; what changes there have been in the composition of this committee since it was first appointed; whether it has yet completed the taking of evidence; and when its report is likely to be available.

Mr. H. Strauss:

The Committee has just completed the taking of oral evidence in public, the first stage of its task. The Chairman of the Committee, my noble Friend the Marquess of Reading, has resigned on his appointment as Parlia- mentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and Sir Henry Gregory, K.C.M.G., C.B., a member of the Com- mittee, has been appointed in his place. There have been no other changes in the Committee. The report of the Committee is not expected to be available for some months.
