HC Deb 31 May 1951 vol 488 c45W
75. Mr. Frederic Harris

asked the Minister of Health whether he can expedite delivery of a hearing aid to Mrs. M. S. Cornish, 16, Haslemere Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey, who is a working woman and has been waiting for this aid for two years.

Mr. Marquand

I understand that this patient, who took employment only recently, is being given priority.

78. Mr. John Rodgers

asked the Minister of Health how many people are at present waiting for hearing aids; how many are considered priority cases; and what is the average length of time taken before supplying either of these categories.

Mr. Marquand

Waiting list figures on 30th April total 112,365; I regret that the other information is not available. Averages would in any case have very little meaning.
