HC Deb 10 May 1951 vol 487 cc243-4W
47. Mr. Dodds

asked the Lord Privy Seal why advance hooking of tickets cannot be obtained at the South Bank site, particularly when the public arrive without tickets before 3 p.m. and all advance tickets have not been taken up previously.

Mr. Ede

I have been asked to reply. The Festival Office are reviewing the advance booking arrangements and they assure me that in making adjustments the utmost practicable facilities will be given.

49. Mr. A. Lewis

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will give a detailed list of the number of inquiries for orders and the number of orders placed for industrial and other goods at the South Bank Exhibition of the Festival of Britain; and the total money value of such orders so far placed.

Mr. Ede

I have been asked to reply. My hon. Friend is under a misapprehension. The South Bank and other exhibitions of the Festival of Britain are not trade fairs and although information and other facilities have been arranged to enable interested persons to get in touch with manufacturers, no detailed information about such inquiries or about orders that may arise out of them is available. The British Industries Fair and other trade exhibitions cover this field.
