HC Deb 04 May 1951 vol 487 c168W
Mr. Llewellyn

asked the Minister of Health how many persons in Cardiff were awaiting admission to hospital on the latest convenient date; how many were awaiting traumatic and orthopaedic surgical treatment; how many children were on the list for ear, nose and throat treatment; and how many beds were idle due to lack of staff.

Mr. Marquand

In March last, the figures for the hospitals in the Cardiff area for the four items refered to were 10,900; 2,628; 1,651 and 20 respectively. These figures, especially those for the Cardiff Teaching Hospital which serves the whole of South Wales, include patients from outside Cardiff, and separate figures for Cardiff residents are not readily ascertainable.
