§ 71. Mr. Scottasked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he proposes to take to prevent any substantial rise in the price of fertilisers in the near future.
157W
§ Sir H. ShawcrossThe removal of the fertiliser subsidy on 1st July next, together with a considerable increase in the cost of imports and freights and some increase in costs within the United Kingdom, will inevitably mean a substantial rise in the price of fertilisers. Since the prices of most fertilisers are controlled, it is hoped to keep these within justifiable limits.
