HC Deb 02 May 1951 vol 487 c145W
62. Mr. J. Johnson

asked the Minister of Food what is the world price of groundnuts; and what price he is paying to Gambia.

Mr. F. Willey

The price negotiated for the 1950–51 season under our long-term contract with the Gambia is £55 per ton for unshelled groundnuts. Only relatively small quantities of groundnuts enter into general world trade, but at present some offers of unshelled nuts are being made at £82 10s. per ton.
