HC Deb 21 March 1951 vol 485 cc285-6W
Mr. Fernyhough

asked the Minister of Food what was the quantity in weight of English meat exported to Canada during 1950 and 1951 to date; and what percentage this represents of total supplies for home consumption.

Mr. Webb

The quantities of meat issued for the manufacture of meat products exported to specific countries are not separately recorded in my Department's records. During the period 1st January, 1950, to 31st January, 1951. which is the latest period for which complete records are available, the quantity of home-killed meat issued for the manufacture of meat products for export to all destinations represented about one-hundredth part of one per cent. of the total issues of all carcase meat and offals for home consumption during the same period.
