asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will take steps to amend the Pensions Increase Warrants, 1944 and 1947, in view of the increase in the cost of living since 1947.

Mr. Strachey

No. The Pensions Increase Warrants allow increases of Army pensions on the same basis as the Pensions Increase Acts and corresponding instruments, and an amendment to the Warrants could not be considered in isolation.
