§ 99. Mr. Osborneasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that motor lorries with export goods have made the journey to the London Docks on three successive days before being unloaded; that a labour force which before the war handled 1,000 tons a day now only handles 600 tons a day; and if he will cause an investigation to be made into the working of the National Dock Labour Board to increase the efficiency of the labour employed.
Mr. LeeThe day to day administration of the dock labour scheme is the responsibility of the National Dock Labour Board, to whom questions such as the hon. Member raises should be addressed. I see no reason for making a special inquiry into the working of the Board.
