60. Mr. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will give an assurance that he will include in the peace treaty with Germany provision for reparations to be made for the murders and torture of Jewish victims by the Nazis; and if he will give favourable consideration and support to the proposals submitted to him by Israel in this regard.

62. Mr. Anthony Greenwood

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will give an assurance that, in drawing up the peace treaty with Germany, he will make provision therein to satisfy Israel's claim for reparations from Germany in respect of the atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis on their Jewish victims.

63. Mr. G. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will give an assurance that no peace treaty will be concluded with Germany without making provision therein for the proposals submitted by Israel for reparations from Germany for the atrocities committed against the Jews by the Nazis.

Mr. Younger

His Majesty's Government will give careful and sympathetic consideration to the representations made by the Government of Israel to the Government's of the Powers occupying Germany. But I cannot at present give any assurances on behalf of His Majesty's Government regarding the inclusion of particular provisions in any eventual Peace Treaty with Germany.
