§ Mr. BevanI regret that although discussions have been proceeding locally for some time no settlement has so far been reached. My officers are in close touch with the parties but adequate machinery exists in the industry to deal with any difficulties. It is the responsibility of both sides to see that this joint machinery is fully and properly used.
