HC Deb 14 March 1951 vol 485 c186W
Major Hicks-Beach

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he will make arrangements with the Railway Executive for similar conditions as regards refreshment to be available to British Service men travelling by train on duty in this country as they accord to United States Service personnel on similar duty.

Mr. Strachey

So far as I am aware, the arrangements made for supplying United States personnel with refreshments during duty journeys by train do not differ from those made to British soldiers, except when special trains are run in connection with disembarkation.
