HC Deb 14 March 1951 vol 485 cc167-8W
77. Mr. P. Roberts

asked the Minister of Food what kinds of meat and what quantities were exported during the year ended 31st December, 1950.

Mr. Webb

All kinds of meat and meat products are not separately recorded in Official Trade Returns. Excluding supplies to the Channel Islands, 350 tons of meat, other than bacon, ham, poultry and game but including 200 tons of horse-meat, were exported or re-exported in the year ended 31st December, 1950. In addition, by supplementing the figures given in the Official Trade Returns from my Department's records it is estimated that about 1,540 tons of meat products (containing varying proportions of meat) and canned meats were exported or re-exported during the same period.
