§ Mr. GaitskellUnder Section 2 of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1945, charities registered under Section 41 of the National Assistance Act, 1948 (which replaces Section 3 of the Blind Persons Act, 1920) can obtain wireless sets free of the tax provided that they make them available exclusively for the use of the blind, and retain ownership of them for that purpose.
