HC Deb 13 March 1951 vol 485 c144W
110. Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Works by what authority Lancaster House, which was given by Lord Levehlume especially to house the London Museum, is being taken by the Government for other purposes.

Mr. Stokes

The lease of Lancaster House, assigned by direction of Lord Leverhulme, expired in July, 1940. My Department now holds the building under a new lease from the Commissioners of Crown Lands.
