152. Mr. Alport

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make with regard to the future of the British Military Mission to Ethiopia.

Mr. Younger

It has been decided to withdraw the British Military Mission from Ethiopia and the withdrawal started on 1st March after His Majesty's Ambassador had given three months' notice in accordance with the terms of the Agreement of 1944. This decision has been accepted by the Ethiopian Government who have expressed their appreciation of the Mission's work.
