§ 65. Mr. Alportasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been drawn to the disappearance of Mrs. Bolton, an employee of the British Embassy in Moscow on 12th February; and what action he proposes to take.
§ Mr. YoungerHis Majesty's Ambassador in Moscow reported on 14th February that Mrs. Nadia Bolton had failed to return home after duty in the Embassy on Monday, 12th February. Mrs. Bolton is a Soviet citizen in addition to being a British subject and is, consequently, subject to Soviet law while in the Soviet Union. A note was sent to the Soviet Ministry for Foreign Affairs on 14th February reporting her disappearance and asking that inquiries should be made. No reply has yet been received.
