HC Deb 09 March 1951 vol 485 c99W
Mr. M. MacPherson

asked the President of the Board of Trade what types of agricultural machinery are now being imported from dollar resources; and in what quantities.

Mr. Bottomley

The programme for imports of agricultural machinery in 1951 from dollar sources amounts to approximately 500,000 dollars for pick-up balers and pea harvesters. Consideration will also be given to other essential requirements which cannot be met from home production or by imports from countries to which the policy for the liberalisation of trade applies.
