§ Mr. Thornton-Kemsleyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will give, to the nearest convenient date, the number of claims for depreciation of land values in England and Wales made under Part VI of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947; the number or proportion of these which have been agreed; and the aggregate amount of the agreed claims;
(2) if he will give, to the nearest convenient date, the number of claims for depreciation of land values in Scotland made under Part V of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act, 1947: the number or proportion of these which have been agreed: and the aggregate amount of the agreed claims.
§ Mr. JayBy the end of February 828,000 claims had been received in England and Wales and 138,000 in Scotland. About one-ninth had been finally agreed or otherwise determined. Claims so far determined are not a fair cross-section of claims received, and it would be misleading at this date to publish the amount.
