HC Deb 05 March 1951 vol 485 c15W
105. Mr. Bossom

asked the Minister of Food if he is aware that many butchers in Kent are not getting, regularly, enough meat to enable them to honour their rations week by week for all their registered customers; and what action he proposes to take to correct this situation.

Mr. Webb

No. I am satisfied that butchers are receiving enough meat to honour their customers' rations provided that they exercise their trade skill in cutting. I would point out that each allocation is increased by 5 per cent. on top of what is needed for the ration, to cover cutting losses.
