HC Deb 05 March 1951 vol 485 cc6-7W
56. Mr. Hopkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what representations he has made to the Chinese Government in regard to the application of the Geneva Convention to British personnel captured by the Chinese forces in Korea.

Mr. Younger

None; but as the hon. and gallant Member for Macclesfield (Air Commodore Harvey) was told on 12th February, His Majesty's Government are taking every possible step to help the International Red Cross Committee in obtaining permission to enter North Korea, and the Central People's Government are well aware of the interest of the United Kingdom in this matter.
