HC Deb 05 March 1951 vol 485 c21W
112. Mr. Llewellyn

asked the Minister of Local Government and Planning whether his attention has been drawn to the report made by the district auditor for the year 1948–49 into the financial returns of the Glamorgan County Council, particulars of which have been sent to him, in which he alleges that nearly two-thirds of the members' claims examined at audit were found to be defective in more or less important details; and whether, as the findings of the district auditor have been publicly criticised by the chairman of the Glamorgan County Council, and in fairness to the individual councillors concerned, and to the ratepayers of Glamorgan, he will take steps to institute an inquiry under the Tribunals of Inquiry (Evidence) Act, 1921.

Mr. Dalton

There has been no appeal to me from the district auditor's decision, and the matter is not, therefore, before me.
