TaylorThe National Assistance Board inform me that no such instruction has been given: applications for assistance for the families of dockers during the recent dispute were dealt with in accordance with the regulations made under the National Assistance Act. The arrangements with the Docks Labour Board were made to ensure that in cases of necessity advances against wages would he paid at the earliest practicable date after the men had returned to work.
