Mr. Hylton-Foster

asked the Minister of Local Government and Planning if, with a view to encouraging persons to enter employment after reaching the age of retirement, he will consider legislation to modify the operation of the repealed Section 7 of the Asylum Officers' Superannuation Act, 1909, in cases where suspension of reduction of the pension is still required by the operation of that section.

Mr. Dalton:

No, but I am discussing with the local authorities associations how best to encourage older people to go on working.
