§ 58. Major Beamishasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will now make a full statement on the steps he has taken, and will take, to implement the unanimous resolution of the House of 10th May, 1951, requesting His Majesty's Government to give early consideration to the claim of the British Far-Eastern prisoners of war, and the dependants of those who died in captivity, for compensation from the Japanese.
§ Mr. Younger:The claim to compensation of British Far-Eastern prisoners-of-war was considered in the discussions with Mr. Dulles which have just ended. I hope that this particular question can be dealt with fully in the course of a debate on the whole Japanese Peace Treaty when the draft Treaty is published in the near future.
