§ 65. Mr. Harold Daviesasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the deaths and accidents that have taken place on the dangerous hill at Upperhulme, near the Roaches, on the Buxton-Leek road; and if he will take steps to have this spot on a main road made safer as soon as possible, because despite the deaths nothing has been done to prevent further tragedies.
§ Mr. Barnes:There have been 10 accidents on this hill during the last three years, eight involving personal injuries, two of which have been fatal. The Staffordshire County Council are the responsible highway authority, and I 7W understand that their highways committee are to consider the possibility of effecting some improvement at this point.
