§ 70. Mr. Storeyasked the Minister of Health whether the certificate of the medical attendant and the confirmatory medical certificate required under the Cremation Act, 1902, are provided free of cost under the National Health Service, or what is the normal fee charged for such certificates.
§ Mr. MarquandThese certificates are not provided free under the National Health Service except for the first certificate when a patient dies in hospital. The fee, which is a matter for private arrangement, is usually about £2 for the first certificate and £1 for the second.
