§ Mr. StracheyThere is no Mauritius Regiment but about 6,000 Mauritians are serving in Egypt with the Royal Pioneer Corps. It is not proposed at the moment to increase the number of men enlisted.

Mr. Gammansasked the Secretary of State for War what is the approximate number of Germans and Egyptians in Germany and the Suez Canal Zone, respectively, who are employed in a civilian capacity as drivers of military vehicles or performing other duties which in the event of war would have to be done by men in uniform.
