§ Mr. GaitskellI am not sure what my hon. Friend has in mind when he refers to 12½ per cent. Purchase Tax. Under Group 34 of the Purchase Tax Schedule, stationery is taxed at the rate of 33⅓ per cent. of the wholesale value. I am afraid that it would not be possible to provide special treatment for stationery used in schools.
