Mr. Linstead

asked the Minister of Health (1) what percentage of the finally-calculated value of prescriptions dispensed in England during May, 1950, was paid by him on account in June, 1950; and what percentage had been paid by the end of December, 1950;

(2) what percentage of the finally-calculated value of the prescriptions dispensed in Wales during May, 1950, was paid by him on account in June, 1950; and what percentage had been paid by the end of December, 1950.

85½per cent. of the finally calculated value of prescriptions dispensed in England in May, 1950, was paid on account in June, 1950: the supplementary payment in December, 1950, increased this figure to 90 per cent. For Wales, the corresponding figures are 83½per cent. and nearly 88 per cent. For England and Wales together the figures are 85½per cent. and 89f per cent.
