§ 116. Mr. Cocksasked the Attorney-General whether his attention has been drawn to cases where women have gone through the ceremony of marriage and had children and have later been declared unmarried on the grounds that they were under 16 years of age when the marriage ceremony was performed; and whether he will introduce legislation to amend this law.
The Solicitor-GeneralI am aware of the cases to which my hon. Friend refers and my noble and learned Friend the Lord Chancellor proposes to request the Royal Commission on Marriage and Divorce to consider whether any amendment should be made in the law in view of these cases.
