HC Deb 30 July 1951 vol 491 cc120-1W
21. Lieut.-Colonel Corbett

asked the Minister of Food what action is being taken to improve supplies of animal protein by increasing facilities for making fishmeal, meat and bone meal, blood meal, etc., and by ensuring that there is no wastage of fish or animal by-products.

Mr. F. Willey

There is already adequate factory capacity for converting all supplies of fish waste and animal byproducts into fish meal and meat and bone meal respectively. I can assure the hon. Member that no waste is taking place.

In regard to blood meal, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to him by my right hon. Friend on 4th December, 1950.
