HC Deb 06 July 1951 vol 489 cc251-2W
Mr. Profumo

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty how many families are at present accommodated on disused naval sites; how many of these families are likely to be displaced within the next three years as a result of naval expansion; and what are the terms of tenure under which these accommodating units are occupied.

Mr. W. J. Edwards

234 families are at present housed at four disused naval air stations which are on loan to the Department of Health for Scotland and the Ministry of Local Government and Planning. The terms of tenure are a matter for the local authorities and I understand they may vary from site to site. Present plans for naval expansion over the next three years do not require the use of these sites.
