Miss Hornsby-Smithasked the President of the Board of Trade how many licences have so far been issued under the provisions of Public Notice No. 425, dated July, 1950; and how many of such licences apply to the apparel trade, as regards articles of apparel for research to improve production of women's dresses and similar garments.
§ Mr. BottomleySince 1st October. 1950, 143 directions have been made, on recommendations from the Board of Trade, for remission of duty on goods imported under Section 11 of the Finance Act, 1950. Nine recommendations have 233W been made in respect of women's shoes, and one in respect of swimwear and beachwear.
