asked the Secretary of State for War the present numbers of the Territorial Forces; and at what rate they are now recruiting.

Mr. Strachey

The strength of the Territorial Army, including women's Services, on 31st May, 1951, was 11,409 officers and 107,040 other ranks. The average monthly recruitment of direct volunteers over the last six months was 115 officers and 1,406 other ranks.
