HC Deb 02 July 1951 vol 489 c196W
Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Air if he will remove the maximum time of 190 hours per year for pilots in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who want to attend for longer training.

Mr. A. Henderson

Experience has shown that 190 hours' non-continuous training is normally ample to enable pilots who were already properly qualified on entry into the R.A.F.V.R. to maintain their proficiency. This period is, however, not an overriding maximum and additional training may be specially authorised in cases where it would serve a useful purpose.
